| Maryland Community Builders Foundation's Mission | |||||
| The Maryland Community Builders Foundation, founded in 1999, is the charitable arm of the Home Builders Association of Maryland. It was formed to promote shelter related activities for those less fortunate throughout the Baltimore region. The Foundation focuses on ‘sticks and bricks’ projects that provide shelter or shelter improvements for needy families in the six counties and city serviced by HBAM – Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Cecil, Harford, Howard and Baltimore City.
Our strategy is to provide shelter-related charitable services in the region by calling upon HBAM members for donations of labor, materials and funds. Examples of recent projects supported by the Foundation include The Arc of Baltimore, the Night of Peace Shelter, the Carroll County Hospice, the Grassroots Homeless Shelter in Howard County, St. Casmir and the Lighthouse Industries and Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The Maryland Community Builders Foundation reaches out to our community to recognize the positive impact both individuals and organizations can make through philanthropy and volunteerism on their neighborhoods, towns and cities. Changing Lives and Building Communities The Maryland Community Builders Foundation teamed up with Rebuilding Together, a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to helping elderly and/or disabled low-income homeowners, and families with children through home renovation and repair. On April 30th, volunteers from all over the area joined forces armed with truckloads of donated materials to repair and renovate homes so our local residents can live in warmth, safety and independence. Our Foundation signed on to repair a 2,000 square foot home in Elkridge. We roofed the house, cleaned and landscaped the yard, repaired and replaced the kitchen floor, repaired and replaced the bathroom floor, replaced the bathtubs and painted. To accomplish our goal, we looked to our members for donations of materials and labor. Click here to view these pictures larger |

Jay Baldwin of Reliable Contracting and Michael Baldwin of Baldwin Homes contributed in a $25,000 donation to benefit "Live! On The Farm" benefit concert. The proceeds will benefit "horses for heroes," a therapeutic riding program for disabled veterans. In addition, Chaney Enterprises presented a check to Davidsonville Park for a new storage facility which will store athletic equipment in a lighted and mold free facility. | ||||
