    HBAM offers a variety of events and programs each year that provide both business and social forums to increase your industry contacts.

    BUILDER MART As an exhibitor or attendee, you won’t want to miss this HBAM-sponsored, regional trade show, recognized as the premier building industry trade show in the Mid-Atlantic region. Over 8000 building professionals attend this one day exposition and meet with the 400+ exhibitors displaying the latest products, services and innovations available in the industry.     KEY CONNECTIONS This members-only event is a great opportunity for associate members to meet with the decision makers from the area's top builders and remodelers. Held annually each February, Key Connections is designed to help you get the most from your membership investment. Spend 3 timed minutes with purchasing managers, construction managers, owners and CFO's selling them on your product or service. The goal of the attendee is to end up on their list of preferred vendors and professional service providers. This event is comprised of close to 40 builders and remodelers and over 350 attendees.

    INTERNATIONAL BUILDERS SHOW You’ll enjoy four days of exhibits, seminars, tours, speakers and more as one of the 100,000 industry professionals who attend the National Builders Show. Held early each year in a major US convention city, the show features over 16 acres of products and services and over 700 seminars given by leading industry experts.

    OTHER ASSOCIATION-WIDE PROGRAMS You’ll have other opportunities to network in a social environment at the Celebrity Chef Night Wine Festival & Auction, Maryland Awards of Excellence (MAX) and many county and chapter events.

    LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY
    HBAM offers effective legislative lobbying at the local, state and national level, representing housing interests and advocating strong positions on issues that impact you. On your behalf, HBAM fights restrictive legislation and regulations that are detrimental to the housing industry. Local and NAHB staffs are only a phone call away with information about new regulations, laws or industry concerns.

    The Association’s legislative arm in Annapolis, the Maryland State Builders Association, employs full-time staff to monitor the activities of various state legislative committees and to meet with members of the Maryland General Assembly.

    On the local level, HBAM operates a nationally recognized, award winning governmental affairs program. Chapter leadership meets regularly with local elected officials as well as advocates for the housing industry.

    HBAM has one of the most unique and successful political action programs in the nation, realizing that the election of a candidate is truly the beginning of effective legislative involvement. As a member, you can participate in state and local PAC’s designed to promote the candidacy of elected officials who support a viable housing industry.

    The 4-color, bi-monthly publication of the Home Builders Association of Maryland offers articles on current industry trends, relevant business practices, regional and national news and pertinent building related information. It features editorial commentary, in-depth research and legislative information. The magazine also showcases HBAM awards programs and events and includes display advertising.

    HOMEFRONT
    HBAM’s monthly on-line newsletter which keeps members up-to-date on the latest HBAM events and Government Affairs developments. The newsletter contains several useful website links and contact information.

    The HBAM website is the number one resource for members to find information on HBAM members and services. It is also marketed to the home buying public as “Maryland’s resource for homebuilders, remodelers and related products and services.” It is designed for ease of use and features a detailed navigation bar for quick access to every section of the site.     BUYERS’ GUIDE AND DIRECTORY
    The HBAM Buyers’ Guide is the annual directory of the Home Builders Association of Maryland. The guide is the impetus for members to do business with other members. It lists all members by category and includes primary contact, address, telephone, fax, and a 25-word description of each company. Also included is contact information for HBAM staff and a description of annual events. Display advertising is available in the 4-color publication. There is also an on-line version of the directory at www.homebuilders.org which is searchable by company name, business category or zip code.
