Association Wide Committees
Builder Mart Committee
The Builder Mart Committee welcomes builders and associate members to help in its quest to provide the opportunity for all suppliers to promote their industry products and services at HBAM’s annual trade show. The Builder Mart, held each spring, features over 500 booths showcasing the newest and most exciting products in our industry. This committee meets 1-2 times a year and assists in set-up, event day, and tear down at Builder Mart.

HBAM Legislative Committee
The Legislative Committee is highly visible during the General Assembly Session. The members meet every Monday during the Session to review legislation pertinent to the building industry and determine an Association position. Last year they reviewed over 300 pieces of legislation and spoke to numerous public officials on behalf of HBAM and the building industry.

International Builders Show Committee
This Committee is responsible for planning and coordinating HBAM sponsored events that take place at the annual International Builders Show. This committee meets 5-7 times a year.

Real Estate Finance Committee
The HBAM Real Estate Finance Committee exists to investigate and inform membership on various topics which economically affect the building industry. With participation from the member’s, the committee accomplishes its goal through education, communication and by providing programs that enhance its member’s ability to conduct their individual businesses with efficiency and competence.

HBAM Events Committee
The role of the Events Committee is to promote interaction between builders and associates through HBAM social functions. They are responsible for organizing the Annual Golf/Tennis Outing and Luau and Celebrity Chef Night & Auction. This committee is responsible for planning and coordinating each event, generally meets 6-8 times a year and always welcome new and exciting ideas.

Award Program Committees
Council Award of Excellence Committees each meet 6 to 10 times throughout the year to establish the program guidelines and to execute the awards program for their segment of the housing industry. Each awards program is designed to recognize excellence in the industry. Committees are active in the Land Development, Remodelors and Sales & Marketing Councils.
  • LDC Award of Excellence Committee-conducts the awards program which recognizes excellence in residential land development and the outstanding contribution that individuals make to the industry.
  • RC Award of Excellence Committee- conducts the awards program for the Remodelors Council.
  • MAX Award Committee- conducts the awards program for new homes and new homes sales professionals.

    Planning and Zoning Committees
    Members of the Planning and Zoning Committee need to be familiar with county planning and zoning plans, policy, regulations and procedures. They must maintain a good relationship with county officials and review proposed changes. They keep the chapter up-to-date on changes that affect chapter interest and also monitor and provide input on Comprehensive Rezoning.

    Environmental Protection & Public Works Committees
    Members must become familiar with county Environmental Protection and Public Works procedures and maintain a regular relationship with county officials. As with other committees, the chapter must be kept up-to-date on matters affecting the industry, as well as changes in regulations, interpretations and permit procedures.

    Codes Committees
    Members of the local Codes Committees must be familiar with county building engineer officials, review proposed changes in the regulations and are involved in interpretation and procedures. It is their duty to keep the Chapter Board and members informed of proposed changes, interpretation and permit procedures.
