Donald F. Lynch, Jr., CGR, CAPS, is President of the Homebuilder’s Association of Maryland (HBAM) Remodelers for 2009, his second consecutive year in that position. He was named HBAM Remodeler of the Year for 2008. A member of the Harford County Chamber of Commerce, Donald has served on its Board of Directors, and was named Harford County Chamber of Commerce Member of the Year for 1995-1996. He also served as 2001-2002 President of the Home Partnership Inc., an organization that helps provide housing for low-to-moderate-income families in and around Harford County. John is a broadly experienced general manager with over 25 years in general management, direct construction and construction management experience. He began his construction career 25 years ago as a production manager for a design/build firm, New Life Construction Company (Austin, Texas), learning every facet of residential building and remodeling. He joined Brothers Services in 1986 in a dual role as a construction manager, directly responsible for building thousands of roofs, primarily for new houses, and as Vice President, generally responsible for day to day management of the Company, and specifically accountable for all production, sales, and administrative issues. John served as the Company’s Vice President for 10 years, and increased the Company’s annual revenues tenfold from 1986 to 1995.

In 1995, John purchased the Company from his partner and assumed sole control of Brothers. Subsequently, John made a strategic decision to develop new income sources for the Company, rather than rely solely on building roofs for new residential construction. This soon led to a great increase in the Company’s revenue and earnings. This re-positioning from a wholesale-focused company with builders as primary clients to a retail-based exterior construction company offering multiple products to homeowners, commercial, and multifamily unit property managers led to a six fold increase in revenues from 1995 to 2006. During the same period of time that John led Brothers through this remarkable growth, John earned his MBA from Loyola College’s Sellinger School of Business in 2004.

A family man with a wife of 28 years and five children, John is also active in his church and community. John has served as President of the Remodelors Council for the Home Builders Association of Maryland, is currently on the Advisory Board for the Merrick School of Business at the University of Baltimore, and is on the elder board at Lifepoint Church in Reisterstown. John is a private, instrument-rated pilot, and loves his hobbies of golf and wildlife/scenic photography.

Mike Owings is the general manager, estimator and owner of Owings Brothers Contracting. Mike is a long standing member of HBAM, and served as the 2002- 2004 President of Remodelors Council. He holds several prestigious titles, including Certified Graduate Remodeler, Certified Master Builder and Remodeler, Certified Aging in Place and Past R-20 Club President. He has also been a CGR course instructor from 2003 through 2007. He will serve as the President of HBAM in 2009.
