Three of HBAM's members, Baldwin Homes, Reliable Contracting and Chaney Enterprises, recently participated in various charitable projects. Jay Baldwin of Reliable Contracting and Michael Baldwin of Baldwin Homes contributed in a $25,000 donation to benefit "Live! On The Farm" benefit concert. The proceeds will benefit "horses for heroes," a therapeutic riding program for disabled veterans. In addition, Chaney Enterprises presented a check to Davidsonville Park for a new storage facility which will store athletic equipment in a lighted and mold free facility.

The Builders' Haven Foundation's Mission Statement
The Builders’ Haven Foundation, founded in 1999, is the charitable arm of the Home Builders Association of Maryland. It was formed to promote shelter related activities for those less fortunate throughout the Baltimore region. The Foundation focuses on ‘sticks and bricks’ projects that provide shelter or shelter improvements for needy families in the six counties and city serviced by HBAM – Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Cecil, Harford, Howard and Baltimore City.

Our strategy is to provide shelter-related charitable services in the region by calling upon HBAM members for donations of labor, materials and funds. Examples of recent projects supported by the Foundation include The Arc of Baltimore, the Night of Peace Shelter, the Carroll County Hospice, the Grassroots Homeless Shelter in Howard County, St. Casmir and the Lighthouse Industries and Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

Foundation Newsletter

Our HBAM members, more than anyone, know that the foundation of our communities here in Maryland is built on far more than poured slab and concrete. As a collection of homebuilders serving the Maryland region, we build our neighborhoods with compassion and vision, bringing together people who enjoy living together to celebrate the American Dream of home ownership. Many HBAM members, large and small, contribute regularly to the community through self-sponsored philanthropic projects and donations to local non-profits and charitable organizations. In this inaugural issue, we want to honor this leadership and goodwill by sharing their stories with you in the hopes that it will inspire us all to continue to give back to the communities in which we live, work and play. This newsletter showcases our members who have either completed or are currently undertaking charitable shelter-related projects.
